Welcome!

I’m Emily

the person behind All Well Fed

I’m mostly known in my house as “the one who decides what’s for dinner.”

Here’s the thing nobody warns you about before you have a family: someone wants dinner every single night. Every night. And most nights, by 5pm, I’ve got a sink full of lunch dishes, a kid asking for a snack twenty minutes before we eat, and zero energy left to figure out what “dinner” even means.

So a few years ago I gave up trying to be a weeknight hero. Instead I started building a running list of recipes that actually survive real life: dump it in the crockpot before school pickup, one pan, one pot, fifteen minutes of prep, tops. Nothing that needs a special trip to the store. Just dinner that gets on the table and actually gets eaten.

That list turned into this site.

I’m not a chef, for the record. I’ve burned rice (still not sure how). I once left the chicken in the crockpot two hours too long and it turned out better than the times I actually paid attention. What I am is the mom who tests every one of these on her own opinionated, occasionally picky kids before it goes anywhere near this site. If it can’t survive a regular Tuesday with three kids arguing about who sets the table, it doesn’t make the cut.

The people I’m cooking for

This is my husband, who eats whatever I put in front of him and still somehow asks what’s for dinner tomorrow. And here’s part of the crew, the two who are old enough to have real opinions about dinner and aren’t shy about sharing them.

If a recipe survives this table, it’ll survive yours.

Grab a spoon. Dinner’s handled.
